I had to talk to my dealer for work related issues and asked to talk to service after. They are still showing no recalls on our diesel. It was flashed in February to fix the DEF tank sensor issue so I'm wondering if it was the Y81 code. Our DEF usage is less than last year but the engine is also more broken in now. I've still got one Jeep WAVE oil change left so I'll probably take it in next month for that and they can check the PCM.

Mine uses about 3 gallons of DEF every 6000 miles. Or maybe even less now that im getting more miles on it.

Just did a 4,000 mile trip from south of Pittsburgh to Lake Powell Utah and back. Took I70 all the way. I used about 1.25 gals per 1,000 miles.

Ha I used two boxes of DEF in about 2k miles this last month. Mind you almost of that was towing at 70-75mph but it can't be right. Mine doesn't qualify for the recall apparently. Late 21 JTRD.

That is considerable usage but with a heavy load maybe thats normal?

Is there any consensus forming here? Sounds like it either does nothing or does something.

I thought it did something when I had it flashed. But it didn’t. DEF use is exactly the same.

Strangely the digital gauge reports differently than the OBDII port does on current level of the tank.

either way, jeep runs the same, still likes to swim in DEF when towing.
