Of course your 22 wouldn't have it.......that's a given. No 2022 came from the factory with such cover. Dealers were installing them, Jeep said "cut that out, we ain't paying you for that".My '22 built 2-22 does not have a cover. Less weight and runs cooler and one less part to remove when installing a 6.4 Hemi.
It has nothing to do with engine heat........... that's lost in other ways.
There's been a lot of talk of that in other places for years - various cars and trucks where people have talked of the decorative engine cover that may help reduce some sounds..........
Note that it's the JT and JL mentioned - not others.
Jeep likely assumed no JT or JL owner gave a rip about engine looks or a fraction of a decibel in engine sound. they were wasting their money.
