Couldn’t wait anymore in Canada:
Ordered a Tekonsha connector - 3024-P
Swapped the black and blue wires and connected to factory plug under dash.
Connected to Primus IQ

Works perfect and I’ll wait out the storm for the factory install in lighter socket.

I use the lighter socket for a plug that runs to my Valentine and has two USB ports to charge cell phones. I would not want to give up all that. Glad I got Curt controller and harness [for a Ram, swapped black and blue] a couple months ago. Still can't figure why FCA changed the pin positions for power and brakes (black and blue) on the JT, but use the same connector as the Ram.

@WXman did a good video on the install of the controller and wiring, but he mounted his control knob in a different location. There are some write ups with info on putting the control knob in place of the 12V outlet. I did myself and really pleased with it.

The main point is; we were sold a vehicle that didn’t have what was marketed. This should be a free install. To match the max tow package we all thought we were getting!

You got exactly what was advertised. The brake controller has been marketed as an add-on option from day one. It just has not been made available to purchase. The brake controller was never sold as part of any of the tow packages. Nobody is due a free controller.

Anyone have one installed by the dealer yet? If so how much did they charge for labor?

Have one on order. Now to determine if I want to chance breaking any trim pieces trying to install.

If you're talking about the factory controller, then no, no one has had it installed by a dealer because it still hasn't been released. Pushed back to August now. For aftermarket, most of us did them ourselves. it's really not hard at all to pop the trim off.

This right here. The manual and everything covers adding on a brake controller and they give you a plug to do it. I think most people are too young to remember a time where there was no such thing as a factory brake controller, yet you were still required by law to have trailer brakes and the trucks were rated to tow enough load that they were required. We simply went and got the needed brake controller and installed it. Hell, I remember the first time I saw a truck with a plug ready to accept the brake controller and harness and was floored by it lol.

The picture of the mopar one is from the Jeep website. No one has one, and It doesn't look like anyone will till August or October. The ones posted here are either a Redarc or Curt Spectrum that you can install in the same location as the 12v charger, or on the dash somewhere.

Exactly what PsyRN said. If you were told October it sounds like it's pushed back again. My new name for it is #vaporware.

Suggestion - Buy a lighter removal tool to remove the lighter socket. It will save you a bunch of time and aggravation.
