no problems fitting those on the stock Overland wheels? I was looking at those tires, but TireSize.com says they need a minimum 8.5” wheel, and I think the stock Overland wheels are 7.5”.
I just looked up the overland wheels and it says 6.5 -(7.5)- 8.5

Thanks for all the good feeback guys. Seems like folks are able to run 285 wide with no issues. I'm leaning toward 285 or 275.

The stock tires do ride very nice, but as someone posted, they do give it a 'rental' look and it bugs me.

There's a few threads floating around here, but here's mine 285/70 Cooper's. I was in the same boat I liked the factory wheels just wanted a more aggressive tire.

Exactly what I'm planning to do on my Overland, I have the max tow package and they are the same axles that come stock on a Rubicon. Any off road issues with rubbing?

Yokohama Geolander X-AT 285 70R18 on stock rims. I love the rims on the Overlander too! No lift, no issues.

Same color as my JT. Those look awesome btw. I talked to a tire dealer today and he's giving me a good price for Falken WildPeaks. I was planning on going with Cooper AT3 but he doesnt have them in stock.

Haven't been off road at all, but it hasn't rubbed during the course of normal driving.

Any off roading yet? I mainly want them for looks to fill the wheel well up a little more. I don't plan to off road on extreme trails but I will hit the mild trails pretty often with fellow jeepers in my club.

I thought the overland did not have the Max Tow package as an option?

That is correct. It just has the "Trailer Tow Package" with a beefed up alternator, "HD Engine Cooling," a hitch, and trailer hitch zoom.

Gotcha. Is it expensive to regear your overland?

Love the pics. I too have an Overland with regular street tires.
I know it would look better with more aggressive tires.
Besides the tradeoffs on noise and mpg, is there any other effect on driving?
I ask because there are zillions of threads and posts about steering (pulling, dead spots, stability with wind, etc.).
Do the more aggressive tires help or add to some of these issues? (Or if you have those issues, type of tires have no impact?)
