I've lived too long with 37's and the 4.10 gears in my Rubicon.

I would go with 5.13 in your situation.

I think you'll find more people with 37s and 4.88 wishing they had 5.13 instead of vice versa.

The possibility of 38s is another reason to go with 5.13 instead of 4.88.

Thanks, I have decided on 5.13's. Just got off the phone with a 4x4 shop near me that has been around for about 30 years. They are working on an estimate for 5.13 Revolution gears, said he'll email me an estimate when he gets a hold of his supplier.

5hrs in and Out !!
1157 miles from my house to their shop.... would be 450-500 in gas. Might be an option with the fact that they are a great shop. That is if this is their address.: Exodus 4x4, 5635 I-35, New Braunfels, TX 78130,

By the time you got back all the heat cycles would be complete and you would have already changed rear end gear oil 😉

I got 5.13s on 37x13.50s and they are great. I do have a 6Speed. I have been itching for 38s as well and I know they will be fine with the 5.13s

5.13 is the way to go. Sometimes I feel like 5.38 would be better when I'm going up the mountain, and I'm on 37s. I do have a heavy build though; also pull a light weight offroad trailer sometimes. But i do think 5.13 is probably a better all arounder for 37/38.

I have a MT and I'm on 35's. I do tow a heavy trailer all around the Ozark mountains (NW Arkansas). How do you like the 5.13s ? Would you recommend them over 4.88 for towing?

On my JK I had 4.88s w/ 35s and they were perfect. I think 5.13 would be a bit steep unless you plan on going 37s later.

I’ve got 20k miles on my Dana 5.38’s with zero issues. I load my truck down for long trips and am quite happy with the performance on and off road. My truck handles the mountain passes quite well.
