I've had a regen on the trail in my wk2. I was on Black Bear pass and another time on some other trail. It completed it while crawling through the trails.
I've also completed a regen in the city with no highway driving. It takes a little longer but it can be done. You can speed it up my by manually shifting into a lower gear and keeping the RPMS up while putting around town
Was that a soft or hard regen? A soft will run through the cycle at low speeds while a hard usually needs to be above 55 mph to complete.

Don't know. It just said "Regen in progress continue driving". You could smell that exhaust Regen smell when we would exit the jeep.

Might just be contributing to the rumor mill, but as of July 26th this was posted on the JL forum from someone working within FCA's suppy chain:

"they were having a lot of issues with the diesel, so not to expect that until very late in the 2019 model year, if not as a 2020"

Read posts #353 & #355 here: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/2019-jeep-wrangler-jl-info-whats-new-so-far.11060/page-24

Guess that means if you want a 2019 JT, you'd better be getting your head wrapped around a 3.6 Pentastar.

Same here - really want the diesel. I'll have to replace my daily at about the same time the JT is due to release to dealers in April 2019. Waiting another 6+ months for a diesel option means having to somehow solve for a daily driver for 6 months while I wait.

This is an off-the-shelf parts bin diesel engine already used in the Grand Cherokee and the RAM truck, right? Simply don't understand the development timeframes that Jeep operates under...

They've known about putting this engine in the JL / JT for quite a while prior to the unveiling. So here we are almost 9 months POST the JL unveiling at the L.A. Auto Show and there still aren't JL diesels to be ordered or on dealer lots???

Perhaps they have the Jeep engineers a bit too focused on the turbo 4 cylinder - both getting it ready for launch and then solving post launch problems. Which, by the way FCA, that turbo 4 cylinder is the answer to the question that no one was asking in the first place...but a large number of us have been asking for diesel for over a decade.

Its a revised version so maybe they made a LOT more changes then we realize, due to the emissions issue. I like you really don't want to keep driving my JKU past next July as I would still like to get a chunk of value out of it (once it goes over 100K miles resale drops quite a bit).

Word on the street is the diesel might not happen. Mules of JL and JT exist. But I don't even think it's available in the DT yet...

Why announce it at LA Autoshow if it's not happening?

I have inside information that the factory is fully set up for the 3.6 and the 3.0 diesel. And that dozens of test mules have been made already. That's a HUGE investment to throw away.

I'm still resolute in holding out for the 3.0.

JLengineline, on the sister site, already said he's seen multiple 3.0 engines come down the line, presumably for testing and line setup.

Oh they exist, their all over Auburn hills. Just alot of talk about future viability. FCA just paid another 77 million due to missed fuel economy targets in 2016.

I want an ecodiesel JT, but just because it's coming down the line for protobuilds doesn't equate to anything being final. You wouldn't build them at the pilot plant at FCA, they have two other future vehicles in the works so you just build them on the line and pull them for testing.

If their isn't a business case or if there is still regulatory issues. They simply won't get built, just like the 200. Talk about alot of money invested.

The decision to build or not to build has been made months ago.

They are coming. Period.
