I am around 14, which is about what I got in my 15 Ram Sport. My 2019 limited would do 18
Wow - I got 18 in my 2018 Rebel with the 5.7 on 35's.

Awesome plan, Mopar King. Looking forward to seeing the progress/finished product.
I love the driveability of the 5.7 (plenty of HP) and the 87 octane fuel requirement.

When you spoke to them about the 5.7, was there any talk of keeping the original auto trans?
I believe it is rated to 500 ft lb of torque....
Just wondering as I have gotten mixed info up to this point.

Hey Steve,

Thanks! I will keep posting as I get progress updates.

There was never a talk or consideration of keeping the stock transmission, no. I am guessing it would take a fair amount of modification for the Hemi to couple with it and then would likely be a "weak link". I think it would also throw a wrench in my 3 year powertrain warranty with AMW. I like the idea of a full gut job for something of this caliber.

Can I ask, why not just trade it for the New Gladiator HEMI?

What T-case are you mating to this? I'd be interested to see an Atlas attached on something to this level and how it performs overall.

Because one doesn't exist and likely won't for many years if ever.
Given That FCA Just confirmed availability of the Wrangler HEMI, I would anticipate the Gladiator would get the same treatment. But you may be correct, and we might not see it happen..................

FCA has already announced no coming plans for a Gladiator with a Hemi. Also, I don't want a 6.4.

The "weak link" was my thought as well with keeping the stock auto trans.
Any Ram that has the OEM 5.7 has the 8HP75, so it would make sense to include this with the swap.

But then the frugal, DIY side of me priced a crate 5.7 (no new trans) with the "swap kit" and a radiator and thought maybe I could do it myself at my friend's shop for half the price???

Make no mistake - if money was no object, I would be sending a JTR to AMW 4x4 in Michigan for a 5.7 swap today! Their experience, professionalism and warranty make it worth the cost of admission IMHO.

Yeah, I would be worried about countless problems with a DIY scenario. Don't get me wrong, a ton of guys could swing it but AMW understands all the nuances after doing 400 of these swaps. My guess is the DIY kit has the bare minimum vs. what gets done at a AMW or AMW certified installer.

I am mechanically savvy, I can pull an old carbureted 350 out in no time and confidently work on it but these "now aday engines" are just WAAAY outside my comfort level. Dear lord I sound old for 33.
