I'll have to watch what he did because I use it as you describe. Even went to TN and did all the mountains on no charge including steep off-road trails, still drove like a V8. 25k miles in never not had V8 power on tap.

Any idea what video he said that in? The few I watched in the very short time he had it I don't remember him saying that. It also contradicts basically every actual owner who actually goes off-roading in 1, since that's not how the power train works, especially off road where the low power demands leave plenty of thermal capacity for charging the hybrid system.

I don't remember. I think it one of his coffee talks. He was saying why he sold it and I believe his Gladiator as well. I will try to find it.

When would the 2025 JTs be available for ordering and delivery? Was this year’s delayed (and disappointing) unveiling way off from normal being in September? I know the strike will change things, but it may also help reduce standing inventory so as to perhaps not encourage another delay next year. I’m asking for me who is really waiting on a 4xe version but also doesn’t want to miss out on the bikini color due later this 2024 model year. Last time around they offered it for two model years (19 & 20) but that’s not to say they will again here, and I’d rather the color than the phev, but prefer both if possible. I suppose, just thinking now as I write, that I could trade in, maybe using the tax credit to offset any loss from the turnover.

I love my 23 Mojave, but I wont do another Jeep until the company gets its head outta its ass. 65k for my Mojave and no LED. Was thinking because it was a 1700.00 add on, that I could just grab the LEDs later and add em on. As they didnt have any of the Mojaves with LEDs. Turns out to buy em separately its like 3500, thats with me installing them. Left me with a bad taste in my mouth post purchase.

Since the last post did confirmed the Gladiator 4xe for the 2025 model year, I’m interested to see the powertrains, type of battery and the transmission. My concern is the grappling overprice. I’m hoping Jeep will consider either a 2 door or an extended cab with suicide doors. I would rather wait for the 2026 model year, so that way, Jeep has worked all the bugs out. That’ll be the time I can trade my manual Gladiator for the 2026 Gladiator 4xe.

PHEV is better than EV imo, primarily because of RANGE. I don't have to worry about finding a charging station in the backcountry and waiting 30-90 minutes to charge up with a PHEV. I may have to carry fuel, but I can't carry "electricity" to charge an EV.
So, a JT 4xe would be on my wish list if they price it reasonably, which won't happen.
If the performance, range, and features are all the same as we have now then it may be a viable option as long as it isn't priced higher than a standard gas model European sports car.

4XE is great for around town or shorter trails off. The range off road, especially long range overland is seriously compromised. So no, not for me.

Hell yes. I just keep waiting for them to publish the estimated range, unless I missed it.

I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed by the range off road and on the highway. Brad at TrailRecon bought one and got rid of it very shortly thereafter due to its smaller gas tank and limited electric range off road.

Should I live until my current Glad rolls over from old age and the only option is a PHEV or full on EV maybe I’ll consider one. They’re too heavy tow tow behind my motorhome.

4XE is great for mall crawlers or very light off road use. The range off road, especially long range overland is seriously compromised. So no, not for me.

The additional weight and complexity are absolutely not anything I will buy. An outdoor "backcountry" oriented vehicle and EV does not mix.

Where'd that come from? They have more HP and torque than a V8 and are perfect for heavy off-road use. You should see some of the videos out there of the 4xe crawling steep rocks better than the rest of 'em.
They are becoming known as an off-road contender.



There are a lot of videos out there of the 4xe on hard trails. You have instant torque the moment you touch the pedal and no waiting for an engine to spin up.
"TrailRecon" has done a number of videos with them.
Hardly mall crawler material, will whip the crap out of any 3.6 powered Jeep

I misspoke, I know they are very capable off-road. I should have said shorter trails due to the range limitations created by the smaller tank and the impacts of off-roading on the battery range, my bad. I like to do long trails like Lockhart Basin and through to Elephant Hill/Bobby's Hole where range is critical.

I think if you look at Trailrecon's videos you'll find he didn't have his for long because of things like that.
