And I'm still trying to figure out what I said that was political and deleted. Nice that you never know what the heck it was. I avoid politics, I only state facts (like tax incentives being a reason certain fuels here are so much cheaper - not political at all, it's a fact)
So nice - you get an F but have no idea what you said!
that happened to me a while back so I asked an admin and was told that because I quoted the post that was deleted, when the original post went, mine went along with it. Not that it was selective just that it was tied to the deleted post. I also hate politics. It just ends up in arguments most the time.

So. What about that Jeep ugly Christmas sweater??

Oh, ok, makes sense. I TRY to avoid it but once in a while something may be taken as political when it's not meant to be - it's more of an explanation without blame, etc.
If I mess up, I hope I'm told about it!
I always hated it when a teacher marked something as incorrect - but never said WHAT was incorrect or why it was!

Surprised to see one post that is political is still here - it's not very well veiled. Any can see what's intended in it.

Whatever. Anyway, Good news, I HOPE - I got a spare tire cover for my wife.
Happy with image, not really happy that the camera hole is so VERY BIG. Was hoping for a really small hole that would fit over the place where the removable part is.
OK, full disclosure - I've not even had the spare off her vehicle yet! She's still using her WAVE stuff so far.

Oh, the topic......... yeah, I admit I spent money I probably should not have on a truck I really didn't "need" - I could have traded my Silverado for a cheaper full-size truck that was more capable in towing and payload, but then - how often do I NEED that bit? Not a lot. It was a choice. Just like when times were tougher years ago and I was laid off along with 70 other IT people and we had to "downsize" and got a Liberty instead of a Grand Cherokee and I bought a $500 POS VW Bunny with expanding foam sprayed along the floor edges to hide the fact the floors were rotted and if you drove it into the sun, the windshield sparkled like a starry night because it was totally spider-webbed over the entire windshield when the prior owner's son was tossed onto the car by a friend.............
Grew up with nothing but hand-me-downs, a tiny house with teeny rooms (about 800 sq ft) and almost never got anything new for birthdays or Christmas - I decided - I worked for it, I worked my butt off getting this far - I don't give a rip if I die with $0 in the bank, who cares? Why would I care? My oldest certainly doesn't need it, and my other son I'll never see again so he don't need it. As long as there's enough to keep my alive until I'm not - I'm going to enjoy it. My wife feels the same way - she never had anything, her mother hated her and wouldn't even take her to dentists or doctors so she's of the same mindset - we grew up that way, ain't gonna go out that way.
So I bought a JEEP I didn't need and could have gotten something for probably 10K less or just kept the old Chevy and fixed it up a bit.

Oh man yeah way back in college on one of my first assignments in the first class we had a group exercise. Part of it was to do a q&a with someone in a professional field we were interested in And report on that job type. Anyway being the normal person I am I typed up all of the questions after the interview and sent it to the team. Esplicetly saying to NOT use what I sent and rephrase in their own words. Well. One didnt listen and copied and pasted. Of course I then got cited as plagiarizing because the instructor read the copy cats report first. So I had to go as far as providing documentation in the form of email communications to ‘prove’ my innocence‘. At the end of it I was still docked anyway and was told its my fault for being so ‘nice’ to the rest of the team. Huh.

ad as for the Jeep man enjoy it! I am in the same boat and could have just rebuilt the TJ and not gotten anything at all. But I love the JT. So comfy and plush and capable. Its a joy to drive and I already worry for the day it is too old to reasonably repair. come this summer all my funds are going toward the TJ to get it rebuilt before parts cant be had anymore. Almost wish I could just send it off somewhere since it needs a repaint too and just do a body off. But no shame in treating yourself after working hard so many years.

I do think the hemi is nice for the purist, and I’d love to claim to be one. But the price for a hemi swap is just nuts. I’ll definitely look into LS as an option.
Same with me, my preference would be a LS7 ...

Agreed with some of of what you said definitely not this though . I drive speed limit or below all the time. I aint got the has money to afford to drive over it. Furthermore I rarely even break 60 mph for more than 10 miles. The roads I travel on are very curvy skinny and in mostly bad shape. So roads dictate. The highways around here are curvy. Ever run a highway in WV..lol
Agreed I drive the speed limit. It's fast enough. What always gets me is that dude doing 10 mph faster than you and you end up arriving like 5 minutes faster or they get caught at the same light you do. Really not worth it. Drive the speed limit

I have a hard time wrapping my mind around that chart and Ram 2500 sales. 1602 vehicles for sale and over a 2 year estimated supply? I get the 93 sold in 45 days number is divided into the 1602, but that is pure crazy in my opinion if that is the actual market right now for them.
I agree. Charts like this are silly.

And with a chart that lists four discontinued models, one EV, three Euro models priced at 100k+
and an over-hyped, re-badged Alfa-Romeo that nobody wants.

Not an accurate take on the market as far as I'm concerned.

If the data is correct that there is 2465 RAM dealers in the USA, that is a sale rate 0.04 (rounded) units per dealership sold over that 45 day period.

I cannot even see the Saltillo, Mexico plant staying open on those numbers. I think that charts data is suspect. I would think there would be way more than 93 units sold just with fleet sales.

https://www.scrapehero.com/location-reports/Ram Trucks-USA/#:~:text=There are 2,465 Ram Trucks,as of November 21, 2023.

Same. I don't recall anything political being mentioned, either. This forum management is laughable.

The thread briefly jumped the shark when some comments about gun control got mentioned. Went full retard quickly. There is some latent comments on the last page that did not get culled.

It looks like my post on price increases among certain products got deleted. I did a comparison that illustrated not all products have gone up in prices despite massive inflation/price gouging. I'm not responsible for the actions of other f**ktards.

Depends who you ask
The LS swaps are too involved. I had several 5.9's and a 5.7 both would be more than adequate and not require new axles or axle shafts to hold the power. Both types of engine upgrades of either type as I understand it require different transmissions which will also require new driveshafts. But jumping all the way up to that LS and then using it beyond a DD will require way more to be done including suspension.
That's why I really wish to remain with 3.6L and 850RE and just build them back refurbish etc.. . If I upgrade anything it will be CV joint front axles . Probably RPC axles from RPG off road .
Bruiser makes a LS swap kit that uses the 850 RE and they say is plug and play but the cost is right up with hemi swap. Shouldn't need wontons unless your looking at 40s and or wheel hard. Probably want chromoly axle shafts and rcv fronts but those are probably a good idea for anyone on bigger tires and or wheels hard. But I think the real point is these things are almost infinitely able to be modified and personalized making their resale value a moot point. Of course peoples needs change and that sucks sometimes. Trying to maybe bring this back around to OPs original points.

Yes, I have.
They are also some of the roughest roads I have ever traveled on. I think the Rubicon Trail is smoother than most of the roads in WVA.
