Ordered My first new ride, a 23' Gladiator Mojave (firecracker). Went through all the motions, It's currently in order status D...
I had NOT dug into what "Selec-trac" was, as the build page stated in bold.. "Full time 4wd"
I knew it came with part time 4wd as it's a 4x4.. which is clearly stated. Upon build, seeing "Full time 4wd".. I said to myself who the hell wants "full-time 4wd"??? what a gas hog... maybe a soccer mom? I don't want a CRV, Subaru, or a Audi quatro,..
Noting my last experience with jeep tech consists of a 2004 LJ which I still have.
I'm 45, I work in marketing communications.. Is it me,.. or is that extremely poor communication on jeeps part? Every other option on the build page is strikingly clear, automatic or manual.. mud terrain or A/T, or the image is self explanatory.. there is no need to dig deeper to determine what the feature is.. and "Full time-4wd" is perfectly clear as to what it is..
but what is not, is that you also get 2hi, 4lo, etc.. unless you clicked into it.. but why would you with a description so concise..and to the point??? They need a ux editor over at the jeep.com site.
The dealer will not amend the order. *I have a email out to "contact us" on jeep.com with a similar communication as the above..
People..is there a better way to get this amended on my order? and ideally added clarity to their website so other suckers makes a terrible mistake like this?
I live in Wisconsin where there is 200ft of snow and 200 ft of dry pavement stacked back to back like this for miles, selec-trac sounds like the perfect solution to our winters.
Any advice you can give!!
Maybe @JeepCares can help me?
*Update* Jeep customer service replied and stated that only the dealer can amend an order.. So now I went back to communication with the dealer and they are say'ing they'll reach out to their regional sales rep. who is back from vacation on sept. 29th. Time is an issue, the order is still in D status but I'm guessing not for long, ordered and in the system as of sept. 16th.
It still bugs me that even standard options on the build site are listed with great clarity.. why is an engine that you only have one option of listed? Yet you can actually pick 2 different transfer cases and those are not listed with any clarity.
