there is a tube that guides air from the headlight grill area to just underneath the airbox intake - it does not connect to the airbox intake. Im not sure about the transmission... I guess i'll have a look.Except don't the JTs have an air intake hole right next to the passenger side headlight, well below the pain one? As part of the transmission cooling system. I would think splashing into water gets water in there first.

. DawgBox was loaded to the max but was an easy driver (except out of Lincoln NE where the crosswinds resulted in me needing to keep the speed to 75mph instead of cruising about 83mph. Here's a couple of pictures of the trip.
