Does anyone actually go off road anymore, or use their Jeeps for the intended purpose.

Sorry, just can't get into the show and shine, neon light up the ground, big wheel and small ducks.

It hasn't become anything. Those aren't offroaders.

Then why are they buying a Jeep? Why can't they stay within their wheelhouse of low riders, street rides, bouncing classics? The Bubba Truck people stay in their lane. The squatter truck group stays in their lane. The Jeep community needs to take back our heritage.

Who am I kiding - I'm just ranting. It don't matter to me what they do, it's their money.

I dont like seeing that stuff either, not because they're jeeps but because its just fugly, IMO.

However, think of it this way - the more people that buy the gladiator the better the chances are that the gladiator line will stick around longer. I mean if ONLY true off-roaders bought the gladiator (and what's a true off-roader??) then there would be a lot less sales and that could result in the line being discontinued... I would HATE to have to get a taco because nothing else was available.

I don’t like those sorts of mods either, but whatever someone does to their own Jeep doesn’t affect me in the least so why would I give a shit?

There is no lane. Anyone can mod their vehicle however they want. You (or myself) don't have to like it and they don't have to care.

Lol, I was wondering the same thing. What is this “lane” they’re supposed to stay in? Why are people like this?

The most simple and important piece of advice any father can give his son - and what I always told my own to pass on to his, is this: just don’t be a Dick. Mind your own business and let others mind theirs. . .

Simple isn’t it? ?

Is any wonder the world is in the state it’s in?

This. Along with aftermarket opening up is a win for more choices and cheaper parts. not saying all parts would be wanted but im sure there are some high quality parts in these show builds that wouldnt be produced if these guys werent doing this to their rides.

True offroader.. you might as well just build a buggy in this day and time.

1) At the very least, they are creating a greater demand for a product we all love (Jeep) and thereby ensuring its continued production. - Not that it there needs to be a reason that benefits me or anyone else in order to justify what they do with their own property.

lift and tires doesn't equal offroad, we were talking about that scene 20 years ago when I was selling parts.

Unfortunately it's a necessary evil, the street queens help float most of the local offroad shops, I loved the college kids with daddy's credit card and a Peterson's magazine....

If I were you and worried about actual offroading, I'd be way more concerned about the parks, trails, and service roads getting shut down. Newbies wanting to hit a mud hole or tear up some powerlines and leave their trash everywhere are doing way more damage to the real offroaders than a pavement princess ever will.

Nothing off road about that! Real off roaders wouldn't consider a JT to be a real trail rig anyway.

I say let them waste the money on making a very limited vehicle if they wish.
