It’s needed. Simple geometry says so. That is, unless you want to lift it and have the body shifted over about an inch or so afterwards. It’s worth it.
What I am saying is there are plenty of folks running he Mopar lift as is with no track bar and no problems. When I started researching lifts the folks that have installed Mopar lift report needing only a 1/4 inch or so of adjustment. That being said, even Clayton only recommends their track bar be set at 5/16" over stock for a 2.5 inch lift and 15/32" over stock for a 3.5 Inch lift.

Don't get me wrong, I will be using an adjustable track bar and I'm not saying don't use one or that it doesn't fix the geometry offset to perfectly center the axle/drive shaft.

The main reason the 2 Inch Mopar lift gets panned is the price you are paying for the limited amount of parts you get and are basically paying an up charge for a fancy box and Fox shocks.

OP,

First of all, you don't NEED that much lift to fit 35's. I understand you WANT it, but it's not needed.

You could get by with either 1.5" or 2" spring spacers, shock extensions, and then either wheels with different back spacing OR 1.5" SpiderTrax wheel spacers on factory wheels and you're done.

Most people are going to push the lift THEY bought, just the nature of the beast.
OP doesn’t even need 35s. Doesn’t matter, it’s nice to be able to do what you want to your Jeep. I considered coil spacers for mine on 35s, but decided I wanted a little more lift. I’m glad I did.

Agreed, the Mopar lift ends up being 2.5" - 3 inches of lift on a sport in the front. That being said, while an adjustable trackbar is helpful, it is my understanding that it is not absolutely needed as their are no differences in track bars on Rubicons vs Sports.
There is no difference in the trackbar between a rubicon and a sport, but at 3" of lift, your front axle will be off center.

The Clayton 2.5" Ride Right would be a good setup for you. It will give you about 4" front and 3" rear. I think it's one of the best buys for the price.

I've had this kit with Bilstein 5100 shocks for about 25k miles and I'm really happy with it.
Did you have to change out the drive shaft with that setup?

Agreed, but my point was that adding a Mopar lift doesn't require a greater amount of adjustment than a Rubicon. That there's a large number of folks running the Mopar lift straight out of the box with 1/4" offset and no issues. The adjustment is 1/4 -1/2 inch max. Here's an example of the amount of adjustment from Clayton's 2.5 inch lift.

getting away with it doesn't mean it's correct.

Replace the trackbar.

Next step is "why does my jeep pull right"

Front driveshaft upgrade is really only needed for guys that plan on wheeling the truck pretty hard and often, for on-road driving nothing to worry about!
