Love mine. If the diesel wasn't an option I wouldn't even buy a new Jeep, I'd still be driving my 4.0 to the trailhead instead of towing it with the EcoD. ?

Yes, the 3.6 is boring. I would’ve gotten a 392 JL or done a V8 swap if the 3.0 wasn’t available. I’ve had no issues in my first 25k miles and the extra torque and mpg is great. I really don’t care that diesel cost more. The driving experience is worth it.

Absolutely. Love our Gladiator and the diesel just makes it better. The effortless power is awesome.

I am trading mine on a Mojave next week. We did the HPFP recall and I asked the dealer to show me the part or take pictures and they said they would. Of course, they didn't take pictures and only replaced the pump. My concern is that if there is metal in the system eh lines, injectors tank, etc. would be a repair on mine dime. The Owners Manual Addendum is trying to shift the responsibility of this to the owners.

I wouldn’t have purchased a non diesel JT after driving one. Knowing what I know now, I probably would have still purchased one. Full size pickups are too big for my liking. I don’t like Chevy or Ford, not a huge fan of current gen Ram’s so I’d probably have an identity crisis if I had to get something new.

Without a doubt. I have a Hemi swapped CJ which is fun and had access to keys to almost any German sports car you can think of and still chose to drive this thing. No issues with the powertrain in 2 years and hoping to have this thing for a lifetime.
I have a 2021 JTRD with 67K IMHO the very best Jeep platform. Just put a Mopar lift with Bilstein reservoir shocks and I am impressed.

No, diesel per gallon price is $1.20 now more than regular.
I was towing a shall travel trailer. The concern about the HPFP failing while I was miles from my residence and the fact Jeep had no replacement part led me to get rid of mine.
I liked it very much, but I could not depend on it.
it appears the tree huggers will kill diesels and taxing diesel at the pump will do it.
it is stupid, Pathetic, and unnecessary to get rid of a cost effective power source.
I had my FJB Edition labels proudly displayed on my Gladiator!.
Sorry buddy but you got rid of your diesel for the wrong reasons. First off anyone who bought this for fuel savings was sadly misinformed. You buy the ED for the torque and drivability, not to save a buck. Secondly that fuel pump problem was GREATLY over hyped. Shit can happen to any vehicle and the 3.6 had its share of issues too. Only those who are control freaks that think they can control every part of their life or think they are important enough that something that's like 2% will effect THEM couldn't deal with the "risk" of this issue.

Il sure you'll be kicking yourself in the ass over this decision soon enough. Also the 3.0>6.4 imo. The 392 is only to show off and dare say...compensate for other factors. The 3.0 is the work horse.

New Jeep diesel owner here.
I just traded my 2016 JK for a Rubi diesel gladiator 10 days ago.
Loved it on the 900 mile drive home from the dealer (Gupton Motors).
I put a Scanguage 2 in it to monitor the regens, soot level, turbo temp, and such on Christmas day.
Right now, I am overly concerned abt the regens VS soot level and such since installing the Scanguage 2 but will figure it all out and become more comfortable with it.
I really love it so far. Way more power than my 3.6

I think many on this forum read way too much and worry about everything. Life’s too short to worry about these Gladiators. These Jeeps are way more reliable than the first new truck I bought in 1981, and I got 165K miles on it. If you are concerned, buy an extended warranty and let Jeep worry about it.

Where I buy my Diesel at, it is more expensive than Mid Grade and Premium. With that being said, it's only 5¢ more than Premium, and 49¢ more than Mid Grade. Now, if you're talking Regular, that pops up to a 79¢ price difference. I'd also save 27¢ per gallon if I drove an additional 2 miles out of my way.

Unfortunately the local Costco doesn't sell Diesel, where the price for Premium is 47¢ lower than the gas station I get the Diesel at.

Yes. Without hesitation.

My diesel experience comes mostly from the military. 2 and 1/2 ton multi fuel 6x6, 5ton tractors, LMTVs, tracked vehicles M113, M109A5s. On deployments M998/M1026 HUMMVWs /MRAPs (speed is your friend when avoiding heat sensor triggered fun) and up-armored Toyota Landcruiser's (that diesel V8 has some get up and go). I have owned a GMC 2500 truck, 2 VW TDI wagons, and now this Diesel Rubicon Glad...this is my favorite diesel yet..... less than 3k miles on it right now. I love the torque on demand, plus on long range trips, maybe 450 miles plus range to a tank of fuel. For the mid sized package this 3.0 is one of the best engine vehicle combos that jeep has had. My wife has the other. Her JLU has the 2.0 turbo. Both have get up and go when needed and get decent mileage while doing it..... I love being able to drive vehicle(s) with the aerodynamics of a brick wall and still be able to get greater than 22mpg in the city. This is 7-10 greater than I got in my old JKU.

When I was stationed in Germany(2003-2008) the Autobahn was nice..... 127mph was the best sustained cruise speed down to the black forest when I brought my parents over (AMGs and BMWs were still passing me at 127 in a rental V10 VW Touareg). Just went to visit in-laws during the holidays this month and pulled down 26-29 MPG in the Glad while traveling up and down the east coast. NJ/NY turnpike is always a time saver when there is not a lot of traffic. I have not gotten up to the speed limiter cutoff yet. I don't plan to. The Glad will definitely keep up with high speed traffic here without a sweat....but probably not in Germany lol.... Of course the attendant at the gas station in NJ(I think Oregon passed a law making NJ the only place in America where you can't pump your own fuel) kept trying to tell me I was at the wrong pump and needed to pull up further to the gas pump...so i had to get out and show him the green label on the cap lol.

I have been watching the DPF filter level with a Banks I-dash and monitor what is going on just because I like to.

First let me say I agree with the majority of the people on this post and I think the torque is great on the diesels. I have a '21 JTRD with 41K miles on it. Are any of you concerned that they replaced only the HPFP, but there may be damage or metal in the system, tank, injectors? That was my big concern keeping my '21 long-term. Are we protected from these future repairs should they occur, or would that now be on our dime?
