I didn’t want to post this in the 6.4 thread as it had gotten off the rails. If you don’t like seeing what a 5.7 behaves like in a Gladiator don’t bother posting.
No negative comments needed here.
For the rest of us, enjoy!

33 minute video to describe what a V8 feels like in a truck. They really milked that one.

I'll take their word for it. Build one in Toledo for $50K and I'll consider it. Otherwise I will (ironically) go buy a full size with a turbski motor.

I've always thought a plain jane 5.7L would be perfect in a Gladiator. Obviously it can be done.
I remember reading once that going from a 3.6L to a 5.7L in a Ram 1500 was around a $2,500 option.
Do that with a Gladiator and they would sell a bunch.

Would love it, seems almost perfect but 30K+. That is a tough one.

For that price I could buy a complete scatpak challenger.

Agreed but Ram was offering that upgrade for about $1800 which would be a no brainer IMHO.

put out an OEM 5.7L with a clutch pedal and i'll buy another gladiator tomorrow. until that day... i'm pretty good with mine as it sits. trying to keep this one for another 7 years minimum assuming they'll never build a real fun gladiator.

The $30k is steep unless you wait until your engine and or trans are high in the miles. At that point, brand new v8 and trans plus all the accessories, installed, with a 2 year 24k mile warranty is far cheaper than a new truck. Especially if you've done a lot of mods. My suspension set up the way I want, lift, tires, shocks, etc. is all savings vs buying a new one... that still has a mediocre v6.

The 5.7ls use the same 8 speed as the non diesel JTs? It says it retains the stock 8 speed. That doesn’t sound right.

I didn’t watch the whole video, but in the beginning it says it retains your stock 8 speed. Am I missing something? Do they mean it’s new transmission, but an 8 speed?

I believe that price includes the stronger version of the 8 speed that the 392s get.
