Last Jeep wave oil change

Finally made it to my last freebie. I will now gladly take over the reins & do my own maintenance. Employee turnover is like a revolving door here. Pull up to the service area & new kid takes the keys. Tells me to go inside with the stub, no thanks I’m gonna watch this. I suspect my 6 speed will confuse him. Yep he’s confused, can’t get it started, asks me if it’s electric??? Luckily someone with a few more years comes along & takes care of it. He talks for a couple of minutes about the gladiator & has some knowledge. Interestingly he was looking to see if there was a taser of any other device attached. Yepp looking forward to doing this myself & leaving the taser mini in it!

Agreed, never again. Now I can get busy with the Centerforce clutch, regearing etc. Coincidentally now that the freebies are up they offered me a free car wash for the next time. Don’t think so as there is no next time. Also got an email for service specials. Not going to roll the dice on some kid finally figuring out how to start it up while in 1st gear or reverse…

I have one more Jeep Wave oil change coming up. After that, I do the rest of my oil changes myself.

I never had a problem with my 4 wave services. However now that that is done I will do my own oil changes. At least I know the oil filter top was not over tightened. It did appear that the oil filter cap was over tightened.

No way... dealership service departments ALWAYS put their newest/clueless guys on things like oil changes. I had a bad experience at a Dodge dealership years ago with my brand new Durango. Never again. My Gladiator will never see the dealership service department unless it's for a warranty/recall issue. Mine is due for its first oil change now... I bought the oil & filter yesterday and will change it myself this weekend. That way I will KNOW that it was done correctly - and filled to the correct level with a HIGH quality full synthetic oil rather than whatever bulk garbage the dealership got a good deal on. My peace of mind is worth way more than the $100 or so they're giving you with those three free oil changes. Hard pass.

yep I left my remaining 3 wave oil changes and the dealer next 10 changes for free on the table after the first one...same thing young kid jumps in jeep immediately turns on the radio and throws the seat back for the teen lean...they left it a mess on top where the "dude" spilled the SIX quarts all over the top end...as soon as the dude pulled up I immediately opened the hood and aside from the mess they didn't clean it was WAY over the full mark- asked for the manager and turns out he was the manager filling in for their oil change dude...this dealer will never ever touch my jeep again

My first one was a mess, oil all over the frame and side of the block, but the last three were good. Im done also and will be doing my own

I've been doing oil changes since the 90s and I still get oil all over the place. Well, I did until I got a Mityvac. Gamechanger mess and the associated cleanup time wise. I too hope to never see the dealer since my Jeep wave expired in the fall.

Wish I could transfer mine to one of you that would use them. Done mine from day one will never use mine. Bought a new 2022 limited Honda Civic Hatchback for the wife and they also had the free 3 oil changes and I asked if I could just have the oil and filters for 3 oil changes and I walked out with the oil and filters and loaded them up in the trunk .
