It is only a matter of time before there's a JT4XE. I still think the Mojave gets a Hurricane option with some go fast tuning. Maybe the rest of the line will get a detuned version.

That being said, the. GC and Wrangler 4XE's are way more expensive than they should be. The blue hooks on the Trailhawk and Overland doesn't look good as a contrast on a lot of colors.
Dealer told me to forget about the Hurricane 6 engine in the JT. Just like this article, he says look for 2T w hybrid. Bummer.

For those that may have missed it, Mopar Insiders says that the unveiling of the 2024 Gladiator should be in September, and will likely go into production in November. A Gladiator 4xe IS expected to replace the diesel.

Article Excerpt:
Well that sucks. I like my diesal and was hoping to get another one in a couple years. Might just have to keep this one.

Actually (for example)... according to the Jeep website builder the difference between the 2024 Rubicon 4xe and 2024 Rubicon with V6 & automatic transmission (like what the 4xe has) is currently $6690... or only $2940 if you include the available $3750 tax credit... and that's not taking into account the monthly / lifetime gas $avings. In short... you get MUCH more power and the upgrade pays for itself more and more the longer you own it. Also... your vehicle will be worth more (with higher resale) because it has the 4xe system. It's a no-brainer addition if you can afford it up front. (Side note: In my case the numbers were even better on my 2023 Wrangler 4xe as I got the full $7500 tax credit before they cut it in half.)
No savings when you have to replace the batteries. Dig deep when that happens.

I don't know about where you are but most dealers are clueless about future vehicles, options, and even custom orders. Generally with the internet being what it is enthusiasts know before the dealer does. And just like Ron Swanson in a Lowe's or Home Depot, we usually know more about the product than the people that work there.

Case in point: the high volume "enthusiast" dealer I went to this past weekend looking at a Cherokee for the Ms BourbonRunner was completely clueless on basics and full of shit. This same dealer was an AEV sanctioned Brute dealer back before the JT's debuted. They flat out told us they could "order" a Cherokee the way we wanted. I said "that's interesting since production stopped in March." Oh no, Mr BourbonRunner- they are still making them. Right, sure.

BTW: Cherokee was underwhelming across the board.

I am not sure how folks without higher household incomes can afford $60K+ vehicles. I think leasing the Gladiator 4xe is the way to go and then possibly buying it.
The household income limit is $300k a year ($150k single). We don't have kids yet, no vehicle payments, and our mortgage is $1100/mo. I can easily stack the $60k+ before the thing gets built.

Well, lots of real questions on here but I think I'd be curious if the JT will have a larger battery pack / smaller gas tank...? Who knows. I guess proof will be in the puddin'.

It will be a long time before there’s anything that can replace the diesel.

Don’t know if I’ll ever buy another Jeep.

The 3.0L will not make it to the Gladiator until after the Ram & Wrangler. (If at all) It’s a Long ways off-

Stupid a$$ grill. Stupid a$$ electric.

Glad I have my '20 model. In 2.1 years, she'll get a Hemi. This is my last truck.

The grill doesn't bother me (not in photos anyway) but I don't get the design trend of slapping a big screen ONTO the dash versus integrating a screen INTO the dash. Jeep is not the first or only one to do it.

If you go leasing: Lease it, when it is up lease a new model. Don't buy it. Buying it will be right about that time you can expect big bills. It is like the electric components, they have very obvious lifecycles on components

Same idea here, just not sure I will be allowed to still engine swap in the future seeing as EU politics are going. And it is not like the EU trends are not effecting USA... sadly

Loving my diesel, and I've got no plans to let it go, but I'm not surprised by the move -- especially in light of the fuel pump recall that still doesn't have a fix.

Looking forward to seeing a few on the trails, and finding out how they tow. I'll be the relic in the oil burner smiling as I idle over everything :)
