I went to go buy a filter and noticed they are no longer available. Does anyone have any information on why or if there will be a factory replacement? If not are there any aftermarket filters that wont void the warranty?

Yeah it is a kick, my concern is what happens when the current supply everywhere runs out?
Harken back to the great TP shortage of 2020...

You will have to find other alternatives. Not saying you can use a sock or paper towels, but I digress.

You can buy up a few now or buy a reusable filter like the K&N filters.

I doubt they have discontinued it all together. There has always been a feast or famine on diesel oil filter availability. You just have to stock up when you can find them.

I know quite a few people that use Doc's Diesel as a vendor for the aftermarket filters they offer and they stand by them.

Moral of the story - if one site says it's out, try another, and another, and another.

I found similar with PS fluid - and yet after 2 sites said out of stock, others had plenty on hand.

Never believe just one site, or even two - check around.

My guess is that there was a slight redesign. They made the filter element part of the outer housing. So the replacement will be parts # 2, 3, and 4 all in one from now on. Part #4 will no longer separate from part #2.

I've seen this before.

I bought several a little over a year ago when it took three months for every dealership in Utah to locate one. Interesting tidbit… Several parts counters said they were “on order” and actually showed me their computer screen but when the truck arrived…nope. One dealership that I’ve stopped messing with scheduled me twice for an oil change. The second time I asked if they could verify that they actually had access to oil filters. The girl rolled her eyes and said of course they could get filters. Duh. Then when I showed up I was told that they couldn’t find any.

Long threads and correspondence with Jeep Cares on this issue.

For what it’s worth, Larry Miller Jeep in Bountiful Utah just got one for me last month.

The most frustrating part for me now is that I keep receiving these emails that if I don’t use up my free oil changes, will lose them. It’s from a robot and there doesn’t seem to be anything. Jeep is willing to do about it.

Crazy. On the Cummins in the Dodges, Luberfiner actually made the filters for Cummins, and were an acceptable replacement for warranty.

I don't own a diesel, so don't have direct frustration with this specific item like you guys (and gals) do, but - I wonder, this is just an idea and nothing more -
Order a filter online - search the MOPAR parts sellers (and there are many, including Benny with allmoparparts.com) or Amazon, and keep one in your truck.
When you go to a dealer for your wave oil change - if they don't have one, tell them to use the one you have and see if you can get them to then provide you a replacement when they get one in. Tell them you will loan or sell them the part or whatever - I dunno, maybe a really crazy, silly or even stupid idea, maybe get creative.
