They are making me make two appointments. One to check for contamination... Then wait for parts.
There’s no consistency between dealerships. I was on my 3rd, and currently don’t really have one. At this point there’s no dealership in the state I would have my Jeep worked on if I had a choice. This may be my last Jeep because their service is gotten so awful. They’re approaching Honda territory which for decades has been officially the worst service in the industry (no idea why, although in my experience it’s true).

My dealership told me that there was no diagnostic unless your truck is showing signs of issues, e.g., it’s dead. I questioned that but lost the battle. They also told me I couldn’t have my old pump, because it had to go back to FCA. Others here were given their pump. I was the first at this dealership to order the pump and it took 4 months after they were available. They never called me to tell me it was in. IMHO the whole independent dealership industry needs to go away although the alternative probably wouldn't be any better.

I can’t even get a fucking oil change done without having my truck disabled after the fact. I do all my own work now, unless it’s something I absolutely can’t, like ECU flashes or major warranty work.

This is pretty tough. I live in Vegas, so something like 5 jeep dealers nearby. I have called the one I purchased the jeep from 4 separate times to get on a list, and can't even get a call back about whether they put me on the list to get the recall done or not. I called another and was told they don't do this. Another told me that they first inspect the old pump and if they don't see any problems, they just update the recall to say it's been completed on your jeep. I let them know that isn't AT ALL what that recall is, and they just shrugged. One dealer sounded competent and has decent reviews from friends, but couldn't give me an ETA for when they would expect it to be in.

Long story short, finding a good service department can be really tricky for warranty work. They all seem to have no interest in doing this, which makes me think Jeep isn't reimbursing enough to make it worth their time.
Which dealer did what? I know a couple are a complete pain to get through to the service department.

I was told I was number 43 on the list at my dealership, they were getting three a week on average back in October 2023. It is now May 2024 and guess what? I am now number 38 on the list. Are they really getting through 3 week? Or are they cherry picking which customers they service? I put in a case to Jeep cares, they said they couldn’t escalate anything unless I had a failure. I asked them if my complaint was documented, when they acknowledged it was, I asked them if they were going to take liability when this truck kills me on the side of the freeway. We were then disconnected… I don’t think the guy hung up on me, I was in an area where my phone calls always drop. But I never heard back from them.

I purchased from Jeep Only and couldn't get a return call from their service department until after I reached out to JeepCares on this site to ask if they had any tips for getting the recall done. Then service rep from JeepOnly called the next day and said they'd been trying to reach me but I hadn't answered. I'm not sure why anybody would try and say something like that when I can pull up my call log and show that they hadn't made a single call to me, but whatever.

Jim Marsh Chrysler Jeep is the one that told me they inspect and if it isn't broken they clear the recall. And acted surprised and confused when I told them that isn't what the recall is at all.

I've heard good things about Chapman Jeep, but wasn't able to get an ETA on when it might be my 'turn.'

I live close to Prestige Chrysler/Jeep but when I called their service department, the guy I talked to had no idea what recall I was talking about and said they didn't do that. I probably just got bad luck with the person I talked to, but it wasn't very confidence inspiring for their dealership as a whole.

Mine was done at Jeep Only but it took a while to get the parts in. They had a particular lady that was calling but it didn't come through as JO. They have changed their Service Department 3 times. Jennifer was one of my Service writers there.

Jim Marsh seems to have a bunch of idiots in their Service Department and tried to give me a line when I was getting some stuff from parts. I only get parts there because of a friend who works there.

Prestige does do the recall, they they tried to get me in to do my recall when I was waiting for my appointment.

Chapman took forever to get back to me. Desert 215 is a sister dealer to Jeep Only.

I think I just got lucky with a good dealership close to me. From the time I took mine in to get the parts ordered to the time the time the parts came in was only 5 days including the weekend. I was gone for a week so they got the car in the following week so it was a total of 2.5 weeks from the initial visit till the time the car went in for the recall.

This recall is a complete chit-show!!
Got on the “list” at a fairly large dealer back in Feb - was told I was #27 and they were doing “1 a week”. Fast forward 4 months and they claim I am now #24 - so they’ve done THREE in 4 months time….
With the talk of this just being a New pump and not a Different pump - I’m wondering if it’s worth all this hassle !?

It’s not. I’ve been on the waiting list for 6 months. I’m done. I was already using EDT on every full tank, plus changin oil every 5k, and Oil+ diesel filter every 10K. I‘m not going to wait for Jeep any longer. Moving on to enjoying my Gladi.

Hi all. Looking into buying a diesel gladiator, so I came here to learn as much as could first. Is there anyway to tell by looking at the hpfp on the vehicle if it has had the recall work done?
To my knowledge there is no way to tell. My guess is that it has not been replaced. Most of us have had to beg & bug the dealership constantly. Just had mine replaced in a 22 Gladys with 25K miles, yesterday. Picked it up this morning. Extremely happy with the diesel all around. T

Thanks. Yeah, I pulled the trigger on a 2021 diesel a few weeks ago. I’m really enjoying it so far. I called my local dealer a couple weeks ago and requested the recall be done. The service department said it would take 3 to 6 weeks for the pump to come in. They said they’d call when it comes in, but I’ll call on Monday to check back in.

When the recall is performed, a sticker will be placed under the hold noting that the HPFP was replaced under the Z96 authority.

My Jeep app says I still have a recall ironically enough, but the NHTSA and CarFax dropped it for my VIN.

If your vehicle had it done, it would not show up under NHTSA’s website, it would have the sticker mentioned above under the hood and the dealer wouldn’t have been able to order the parts. Sounds you like have a good dealer now though, so that’ll help a lot to get it done. Congrats on the eco diesel.

Dealers don't always put the recall stickers on. Ask me how I know.

After I had mine done, they hadn't put on the sticker. I took the truck back and had them put it on. I wanted "proof" from them that it had been done.

Yeah, good luck with that. I've been on the "list" since last November.

Same here and mine was done at the Toledo Holding lot during the strike..... best we can figure is that it was completed sometime in Oct 2023..... System updated to say completed on 31 Oct 2023 but it was sitting in a holding lot at the dealership at that time, so we know nobody touched it then. I got the B5 sticker on the inside of the Fuel door, and the addendum for the user manual..... but no recall sticker under the hood. Almost 12k miles and EDT with every tank.
