I had the diesel and was very happy with it. I used it towing a airboat. There is a lot of wind resistance towing a airboat and the diesel was a champ. Sold the airboat and just traded for a gas Gladiator. Very happy with the gas version as I have no towing needs.

Heated wheel and seats are a luxury I appreicate on a wet PNW day. I score a lot of husband points when I put on the front passenger seat warmer before my wife gets in.

Don't forget that you can also have the remote start turn on the passenger heated seat when it turns on the driver's.

I own the 2023 JT Rubicon - Farout Edition with the diesel. I love this vehicle and I've owned everything under the sun. I did install the Banks iDash and Pedal Monster awhile back. I have 37" tires and it will put you back in your seat. Night & Day difference from stock. I've been averaging 19.5 - 21.5 mpg with the 37's. Stock wheels and tires; I was averaging 26.5 mpg.

I average 19.5 living in Carson Valley thats 5000' and hills and mountains everywhere. 7400+ lbs, 38's, 3.73. I do have $$ in the suspension but will handle high speed Desert runs or Rocks and smooth on the Hwy. Rubicon Diesel only way to go..I've had a LS/JK full $150k build and except for big rock trails this beats it hands down.

I too just came back from a trip from central Texas to Wisconsin and back.
Stock Firestone MT's and Green Diesel Engineering tune. No trailer, just loaded down. Sport S.
Averaged 25.01 mpg
Actually got my best mileage tooling around Wisconsin and Minnesota were the speed limits are 55-65, between 27-28+ mpg.
It shines on the interstate, where it effortlessly gets up to speed and calmly stays there.

Odd flex. Your hand math failed calculating your tow weight and payload. Try a scale next time. Looks super ghetto with that squat and the towels under the straps.

The squat you see is from ground there not being flat, there was no squat like that on the road(I have SDI eclicks which can be adjusted for hitch weight). Normally I do this drive with my 16ft enclosed trailer which has a WD hitch with eliminates any squatting as well.

The towels under the straps were to keep the flapping strap lines from rubbing off the paint...do you have a better way to prevent that?

this issue kept both my son and I from buying the Diesel Gladiator…and now they are out of
Production…

The heat issue is over sold. I've towed plenty with mine. Epa tune, car trailers loaded no issues.
