I am not convinced the whole EMP doomsday scenario thing would end up being as bad as it is made out to me. CDI ignitions work with at least one ignition coil directly wired to them, and its magnetic field is collapsing multiple times a second as part of its design. Those devices by nature are pretty hardened to EMPs. If you were super worried about it, wrap a 4 pin GM HEI module in some foil tape to short all of its pins together and throw it in the glove box and your pre-ECM car is good for the apocalypse.Regarding Bugout vehicles, remember: an EMP will fry most electrical circuits unless they are protected by a faraday cage that's properly grounded. Unless your vehicle is pre-1996 good luck as they have multiple modules that WILL fry and need to be replaced. CDI ignition systems will fry, but good luck converting to a points system on anything in the last 25 years.
