It seems to me if it went that far it would create a real profitable aftermarket for vehicle operating software to run vehicles and enable options that bypasses or replaces the factor installed stuff. Companies like Fuel Tech, Motec and similar companies that already have advanced systems for engine management or companies that engineer controllers like Jscan would be the most likely to be able to make full replacement systems.

What if someone driving around me forgot to tighten their lug nuts all the way and their wheel falls off and I run it over and go airborne off the edge of a cliff into the Grand Canyon. I guess I won’t drive anymore!

This hits home, I had a car that a shop did a rotation on and the next day my steering wheel starts shaking violently (like death wobble) so I go to pull into a parking lot and the passenger front wheel sheers off 4/5 studs and strips the 5th, as the wheel goes off into the distance at speed.

Yeah, current policies would try saying I was unfit to be driving or drunk. Uh, maybe stop using torque sticks and go back to using torque wrenches set to correct specs!

There was video today of a guy that fell asleep in the Taco bell drive through the police were called to wake him. Remember when fast food employees were conscientious enough to wake people who fall asleep in the drive through themselves what has happened to peoples work ethics.

In some cities they might not want to leave at nighttime. The person asleep could also become violent when awaken.

Every now and again I’ll eat their regular tacos. They aren’t bad with some hot sauce. Not remotely authentic but decent for fast food. If I ate fast food more often, I’d eat it more. Their nacho cheese fries are decent too.
