Eco diesel Suspension bottoming out on normal roads

I assume you are talking about this little guy? This is what came from the factory on my JTRD. It looks like all the other pictures I have seen too. Is it possible the Teraflex instructions show a pic of their bumpstops?

So thats what my diesel came with also, but the original JT bumpstop looks like this:

The diesel bumpstop looks to be super short before it hits the metal cup.

no bottoming out on my diesel. I assume you must be hitting a really big dip or bump in the road to have it bottom out.....Looking at my rig there isn't a lot of room between the bump stop and where it would bottom out....but no probs so far.

Yes, the 2020 Rubicon I have in the shop today has a much larger bump stop like pictured above. Much larger than the tiny gumdrop I had in my Eco Rubi

I got a response that Jeep is aware of the issue and they’re developing a fix. But nothing yet. Dealer says nothing is wrong. I was told that Jeep Cares WILL NOT pay for a lift kit, because it is a “performance part” … however they admit that the lift kit will resolve the issue and is recommended.

What? Lol That is the most contradictory answer they could give.

“Yes it’s a problem and yes those parts we make will fix it but no you can’t have that because those perform too well and you only paid an extra $4,000 for the premium motor but we will fix someday maybe and we will let you know.”

I must also be brain washed because I already paid for the Mopar lift on my JTRD that hasn’t even shown up to the dealer yet. Partially because I read the complaints here, but partially because I wanted bigger tires and the badassery look it provides.

I would think a simple swap to the larger bumpstops would help significantly. I installed a teraflex leveling kit to help with the bottoming, it would bottom on pot holes and dips in the road before the leveling kit. Its better now, but when it bottoms its still very harsh because there is so little bumpstop before it hits the metal cup.

One member said he resolved this issue with hydraulic bumps, so yeah better bumps may help. Try it out, and let us know! Again, I already paid for the Engine upgrade, and the Rubi Package... The vehicle should be able to support it's own weight without smashing the front suspension. We keep trying to engineer solutions to a problem we didn't design... Just like the overheating issue... we are the guinea pigs I guess.

been following this thread. I was thinking about this issue and general human nature. Many, if not most of us know that the best fix will result in a lift of some sort. If a good solution to eliminate hitting the bump stops would somehow lower your vehicle, would we still have the same opinions and emotions about this topic?
More recently I’m seeing possible solutions by changing the bump stop somehow. If effective, it would result in no lift or lowering.
How much of the level of dissatisfaction people are feeling is because they would just like a free lift from Jeep?

Bottom line is we shouldn't have to at all in any shape or form do anything to our jeeps to fix the problem with our own money. Jeep should get on this and take care of it. Shit it can't take that f'ing long! #jeepdoesntcare or it would have been fixed by now.

Who wouldn't want a free lift?

I don't want to get into a philosophical debate about human nature... I can only speak for myself, I just want Jeep to say the springs we used are too soft for the added weight. Here is a spring with a higher rating so you don't bottom out on speed humps.

We took measurements early on in the conversation and the gap between the bump and stop is smaller than on the Gas engine.

Personally I don't really want to go much higher as my butt is already wearing on the driver's seat getting in and out.

@JeepCares where is help with this solution? I shouldn't have to spend $ to enable a brand new $60k off-road vehicle to go over a speed bump without jarring your teeth.
