Oh, so you did end up getting a response from AEV. That's good and hopefully true.

Were they replaced with new links or boots from AEV, something to "prove" the bad batch theory, or other option and we'll never know until another couple dozen pages never mention it again?

Thanks.
Yea I called, their service is great. I couldn't produce the original receipt or proof of purchase and they gave me the new batch for 50% off. I think they were going to just mail me new ones if I had the proof of purchase. So far, so good. They didn't look different to the naked eye, but I'm sure we understand that doesn't mean much.

Want to do this soon - sounds like since I already have Apex, no issue? Will the "short" Apex be enough for this lift? I have the 8" :

I'd hope so, per Apex...

I know many lifts are reported to actually be greater than the manufacturer's stated lift in inches. Is the AEV truly a 2" lift to stay within that limit?

@Vengeful One are you in the Mojave with AEV 2" lift, and still have stock shocks? If so, do you have the 8" or 10.5" Apex Autolynx?

what's funny about the 8" is they're too long at the shortest adjustment for a stock Mojave! 5.5" stock. The 8s go down to about 6.5...I have mine at the minimum.

I have the AEV 2” Mojave lift and the 8” Apex Autolynx, which have more than enough adjustment and travel for the setup. I still have quite a bit of adjustment left in them should I decide to go with a taller lift in the future.

On a complete side note, the dealer damaged one of of my rear sway bar end links during the install, so they purchased me a set of Metal Cloak links. Given the issues people have been having with the AEV’s, I guess it was a lucky break. Back on topic, the 8” Autolynx pair well with the AEV lift.

Does anyone have a pic of the hardware packs that come with the AEV 2" lift and the AEV geo brackets?

I might have an opportunity to buy used and would like to make sure nothing is missing. I could probably find in youtube videos, but a good pic/detailed-list of what comes in the box may be more accurate/easier.

You rock, thanks!

Please don't open it up for me, but when you go to install if you could take a pic of all the hardware, I'd appreciate it. Totally understand if you forget or just don't want to lose track of it all sprawled out.

Here ya go, everything in the box. It doesn't look like a very intimidating project just sitting on the workbench, lol.

Thanks again! But so sorry, by hardware kit I meant the fasteners in the bag. Site called it a hardware pack, sorry for not specifying more clearly. Easier to be sure by seeing it to compare, since I'd be buying an open/used/disassembled lift. The list on the first pic is sure helpful though.

Again though, I don't want you losing track of everything by sprawling it out early. You've been more than helpful.

Anyone try 37x13.5-17's with this lift? I have AEV wheels the offset may be a problem

I have 37 on my Mojave with this kit. However, with the added weight of my canopy camper, bumpers, skid plates, rock, sliders, and everything else it’s sagged.

It still works for the moment though.

edit- I actually have 37x11.5r17 so the fitment might be different

I run the same tire size and they pair well with the AEV 2” lift. I eventually moved up to a 3” front synergy spring due to my bumper and winch but most everything else with my lift is still the original AEV. I also run a good amount of armor and it still sits and rides fine.

Just don't believe the instructions about only "common hand tools" required. This must be some sort of AEV meme

An impact wrench with swivel adapters or at least a long breaker bar is helpful for loosening the control arm bolts. Some are nearly 200 ft-lb. Unfortunately there's not much room to fit a breaker bar or 250 ft-lb torque wrench under the vehicle or in the wheel wells.

The torque specs in the AEV manual aren't the same as OEM. AEV uses a torque spec, OEM uses a torque plus angle spec. Some fasteners should be torqued from the bolt side, others from the nut side. You can get the OEM torque specs from Alldata. The front upper control arm rear bolt torque spec is incorrect in the Stellantis service manual. That one cost me bolt :)

After torquing all the control arms, you won't want to do it again, so install any springs, spring shims, spacers, coil correction kits, spring retainers, and front bump stops at the same time ;)

This is also a good time to install the geometry correction brackets for the same reason. The middle setting is supposed to be around the stock caster, while the last setting is supposed to be the larger 6 deg caster, which could make the steering less sensitive with larger tires.

Don't torque any suspension bolts until the Jeep is level. Otherwise you can get binding and suspension noise.

Like Nance146 mentioned, I pulled the rear calipers to drop the axle far enough to fit the springs back in.

Be careful in the front, the clamp on the front driveshaft boot will bind with the transfer case housing if you don't rotate the driveshaft to the correct position before dropping the axle.

Small jack stands to support axles, large jack stands to support frame

13/32" drill bit to drill out rear bump stop holes

I sprayed on Rustoleum auto body primer then painted on Rustoleum enamel after drilling out the holes

Metric allen key to remove stock sway bar links, metric allen key to install front and rear bump stops

Large size metric wrenches and sockets from control arm bolts and nuts

Hammer and piece of wood to drive on AEV front shock extenders which are slightly too narrow for OEM axle brackets
Great advice in this post. I just got done installing this weekend and wish I had seen some of this earlier. I do have a question, the upper front frame control arms had a heat shield. I put the geo brackets on so now the heat shield won't fit. Is it not needed because the control arm bushing is now moved downward and the heatshield would only be protecting the bolt of the geo bracket?
