I think they're all connected. My understanding is the diaphragm spring/clamp force isn't adequate, so you get a vague pedal engagement along with slippage under load. Materials heat up, wear, and then catastrophically fail.So this is all about the spring force, not the friction material, the wear, the throw out bearing feel or anything else.
