Mine is stock with 900 miles, going to dealer on Tuesday.
Sgt,

I wish you luck with getting your suspension bottoming out issue resolved. Based on what others have posted, the dealership probably won’t do anything for you. But to make sure you’ve checked all of the boxes, I recommend you also call Jeep cares and let them know you have the issue too. Again, I don’t have any faith that it will go anywhere, but the more owners who voice their problems the better.

Good luck!

Finally pulled the trigger on a lift kit to try and fix the BS suspension issue. Really wasn't planning to do anything to the jeep for a couple years but here we are.

Went with the AEV 2.5in dualsport suspension from Northridge 4x4. They had everything in stock except the coil springs.

Decided to put the new bilsteins on and go for a ride on the dirt road behind the house where I usually would bottom out 3-4 times on the way up to the mountain top and didn't have any issues at all.

Was actually able to drive about 10mph faster than I would have with the stock fox shocks. And the ride was so much better.

My rig is only at 6k miles, but I could easily compress the fox shocks with my hands versus the bilsteins I had to put one end on the ground and use my bodyweight to get it to compress.

Hindsight, I might not have needed a complete kit now that I've tested it with just shocks, but here we are. I got so sick on not enjoying driving my rig, I had to do something (much to my spouse's disagreement on the cost lol)

If anyone wants an immediate solution, look into the AEV Tuned gladiator specific Bilstein 5100's.
My stock shocks were also super soft. I do think 80% of the issue is the shocks, 10% bump stops and 10% springs.

Don’t go flexing that Jeep with the longer shocks… until your coils are in.

Yeah, shocks made a massive difference.

Hoping the coils come in soon, have a possible trip planned in October so it all depends on if the coils arrive in time or it's gonna be a no go.

Well it has been more than three months since my Jeep was in the shop to gather data about the bottoming out issue.

@JeepCares how do we get an update from engineering to determine what progress has been made?

Only speaking for myself, but I paid a premium for the best and most offroad capable truck available today, and I have to baby it up steep hills, and over speed bumps.

Any update would be appreciated.

Has anyone found a replacement set of shocks that will help this problem with a stock Rubicon diesel?

I wish I knew if this was true....... I went through ALL the hoops for Jeep Wave/Care and put the factory shocks on the front with no fix.. Their response to me was there is no solution case closed.... PISS POOR customer service for the TOP of the line off road vehicle.
If this so called Jeep Wave covering the Mopar 2 inch lift and install we all need to get together and request the same!!!!

For a cheap solution if you are not heavily loaded and/or an aggressive driver, just buy/install a spacer kit like this one: https://www.daystarweb.com/product/...-and-jeep-gladiator-jt-2020-daystar-kj09176kv Problem 90% solved! I put over 4000 miles on this setup with 1000-1500 desert miles before swapping on some different springs and shocks.

If you drive aggressively, pair it with some better shocks of a complete lift system.

Shouldn't have to either way.

Yeah I paid for my lift, and dealt with the install labor on my own. I can say it's work getting it in there, and take your time. But it has solved this bottoming out issue for me, with compromises.

FYI I did also pay for an alignment.
Caster ended up at 4.4 Left and 4.8 Right.
Toe is set in just perfectly.
I also have centered my axle with a new track bar, and added a better steering stab (AEV)

While these numbers are in spec for the lift, they are not high enough...

I can tell you with this low of caster angle, and the angle of the LCA's vs the road (due to the lift) it does NOT ride as nice as it did stock. (but it rides well). It also wonders a bit on the road. And it is much more likely to react to road crown than it did before...

This means at 80mph on Colorado highways, I drift right pretty hard. That's the way the road is cowned on all of our Denver highways.

My 2 cents is bite the bullet, grab your wrenches. Jeep is not going to fix this for you, it's too expensive for them to fix, and it's not a full on safety issue.... we have all seen fightclub, we know the math.....

I do think it makes sense to do the following though.

1. Mopar Lift. (1285 at the dealer if you download their 15% off coupon (mopar site))
2. Front Track Bar (you will be 3/4" off without it)( 250 bucks depending on brand)
3. Stiffer steering Stab; I would spend more for a through shaft, but the AEV one for 120 is good. ( 120 bucks)
4. If you don't offroad a ton, I would get a geo kit to add a few degrees of caster, and get a better LCA angle. (200ish)

All in without wheels / tires you are at 1900ish... (PARTS) Labor is likely another 1000ish...
Wheels and tires will set you back 2k likely

It's 4k to make it look, and ride well. Nothing jeep will do for you on this front. Buy it, eat it, it's a jeep thing.

If Jeep actually does something, I'll be eating my own foot.... I don't think they will ever fix this for us. If you buy a diesel, prepare to fork up some cash.

I agree with you, but in my case........My time (Hours screwing around with dealers and Jeep "Doesn't Care") is worth WAY more than $100 and a hour to install. Sometimes you have to cut your losses and move on? Nobody makes a perfect product and gets it right first year, but it is a BIG disappointment how many of you have been treated in this matter.

Right now I'm more concerned with the oil and coolant temp issues which cant be fixed in an hour and $100.

This makes a AEV lift sound more and more appealing. Or maybe the MC lift. MetalCloak seems to know what they are doing. My F-i-L's JL has the Game Changer on it... man that Gold looks sweet! Their parts all look super beefy.

I have to make a big payment every month... that is hindering me from "biting the bullet" dropping 3K to get the lift, and then $2400 for RSE sliders so my Wife and Kids can load up, that is a pretty serious investment.

Just want this Rubicon to be the Rubicon that Jeep has been bragging about for years and years now.

I haven't read this whole thread I'll admit, but when I was installing my teraflex leveling kit on my JTRD I noticed that the factory bumpstops are super small and barely stick out of the front bump stop cups. This is totally different from whats shown in the install video for the teraflex kit. Can anyone confirm that if you are having problems with bottoming out on the Diesel, that you in fact have normal bumpstops up front?
