I spoke too soon. Mine just burped for the first time. I have 9000 miles and it burped fuel all over the side of my truck. Hope it’s just a one time thing.

Any chance this might be related to colder temperatures? Seems like most of us were fine all summer and only now having the issue. You think the winter fuel blend could contribute? I have no idea just spitballing here.

I have 3000 miles on mine and it never spit up gas until a couple of weeks ago. I always let the auto shutoff determine the amount of gas I put in. However, the pump recently started shutting off before the tank is full, and when I try to put in more, it immediately spits up gas. The gauge reads close to full, but not full, and there's not a chance that I'm only using 1.5 gallons of gas on a 60+ mile round trip to town. Seems like a design flaw if so many are having issues.

Next time crank it up and see if it will take more. This sounds like a purge valve problem

Should throw a code, but that test I just described there is probably a 90th percentile

Yup! Happens with every fill, even with the nozzle all the way in. Super annoying.

This is super annoying guys I hope someone can find a solution soon. Gas spilling all over the side on every fill up will destroy the paint eventually.

it’s mind blowing that a 60+ thousand dollar Jeep has this problem.

I’ve been just adding gas until it’s almost full to avoid the issue.

Try pumping the gas at a slower rate, I set the pump to the slow first auto Mitch, and have never had it overspill. If it is spilling out, you are pumping the gas too fast.

I've had this happen one time. Usually I just let it fill till it stops and this time it just didn't stop for about a second too late, spilled gas right down the side, not a lot but enough to piss me off.

Adding in my experience to the thread. This has always happened on mine even in the summer if I tried to top it off more after the first auto cutoff. But today it did it right when the gas pump cut off. 51 degree temps today when this happened.
