But I posted it in the 3.0 Diesel section of the forums...

You’re not doing anything wrong BUT a lot of people look at the new post section and comment and that doesn’t always seem obvious where the post actually is

Road trip from San Antonio to Fort Worth and back. Highway, city, and back roads, and some idling while at camp.

Stock gearing. Ran with all camping gear, RTT, awning, bed rack, and a full fridge😎

My diesel just turned over 3000 miles. First 2000 or up and over the Rockies and then back to the West Coast averaged 26.1 usually driving somewhere between 70 and 80. Upon return the West Coast put on some 37‘s with no lift and did a 200 mile loop up to Johnson Valley of which 90 miles was off routing. 21 miles to the gallon +8% for the bigger tires so maybe 22. By the way 37’s don’t even begin to phase this diesel.

19mpg pretty much all city driving.

No lift but 35” tires. My Speedo is corrected.
700 miles on the odometer.

First tank was 29.2 MPG, 95% highway. I think there was a tailwind helping it.

Not a Jeep (have a Glad, but it's gas), but my RAM 1500 4X4 has averaged 25+ mpg in mixed use . Probably more highway. I have over 2000 miles on it now and it uses very little DEF. I filled it right after I bought it and it's still well over 3/4's full. No towing yet, but that's coming soon. Yes, the DIC is about 5% optimistic compared to hand calculation.

About 4,000 miles, all but the first 800 or so with a 2" Mopar lift and 35s. I'm pretty consistently hitting 24 mpg on the highway, and 19 around town. Hills don't seem to matter. I ran a few legs with 600-pound loads in the bed, no change. Snow and running in 4WD didn't seem to dent it much. This motor just chugs long.

The only thing that makes highway mpg drop is consistent speeds over 65 mph. Aerodynamics are a killer.

Just over 2k miles and fuel economy gets better every tank. Running 4" lift and 37s, and am getting average of 23 MPG with roughly 50/50 highway/ around town. This is with winter blend fuel. I did have one tank that never broke over 20, but that was further north with winter blend plus small bit of biodiesel mixed in according to the pump. The next fuelup im halfway through and showing comfortably back in the 20s.

Daily average 90% rural-town and 10% interstate is 25mpg everyday

Did this to compare to my 38" tires.

Stock JTRD with A/T tires. The only mod of significant weight is the rockslide engineering power steps.

I’ve seen 33 mpg on the highway, but typically get 25-ish weekly on my daily commute.

Just over 4100 miles, swapped out the stock Duelers for Falken Wildpeaks (but same height), I'm between 24.5 - 26 MPG, depending on the day of the week. M-F, I log 50+ highway miles per day to/from work, so by Friday, I'm hovering around 26; on the weekend, more city driving, it drops to around 25.

I am at about 1000 miles so far. Filled up three times and hand calculated each time. The gauge in the truck seems to read high by between .8mpg and 1.3mpg. So I just take about 1mpg off what its actively telling me.
-These are approximates but seems just driving around town I’m right at about 20mpg.
-Freeway driving can be great if you put along at 65mph, I can easily get 26mpg.
once you go over 65 it drops dramatically. Did a 160 mile trip where my average speed on the freeway was around 75 and the gauge read about 22mpg.

This is on a stock rubicon with the factory mud terrains.

I've about 8700 miles on mine so far, and the average over that is showing 19.6mpg. This includes idling, offroad, city and highway. Not bad for having a bed rack and RTT on all the time
