An additional
An additional cooler will get the 3.0 up into the big boy diesel class, probably from 9qt up close to 12qt of oil. I get crap from some of the big truck guys for only needing 9qt, like that's some kind of bragging right.
My Dads 60series Detroit took 10 gallons 😂😂 yes the 6.7L diesels most take 12 I always ran 13.

I've been thinking about a bypass oil filter with an inline cooler. Would love to see clear oil on my dipstick.

It won't be clear, but it will be analytically clean.

Do y’all think the oil pump will handle the extra circulation load? I voided warranty immediately upon delivery but I still don’t want to hurt this engine. Insane Diesel says it is fine.

Additional external oil cooler has to be the answer then
Yup. That's my next project for my Jeep.

I'm trying to figure out where there's space to mount the Amsoil bypass filter system.

AMS Oil doesn't make a bypass for the EcoD, and the universal kits with sandwich plates wont work with our filter housings. The easiest option is the Insane Diesel bypass kit with cooler upgrade, but it's not cheap.

@DC3 ran the Insane D bypass with cooler and report good results. He ran the return directly to the pan, which IMO is the best option. This returns the cooled oil closest to the pickup, whereas when returning to the oil filler cap the oil is heated back up before making it to the pickup.

Somewhere on this forum (EDIT: it was @NCJL below) was a post about tapping into the ports on the oil warmer/cooler, and running lines to an aux cooler with puller fan and had good results.

I tapped into the oil cooler ports to an Amsoil bypass, Aux cooler w/fan. Posted on this forum the results. It is still working.
Yeah, at this point I think over the years we have talked about and exhausted all options, and until someone comes up with something revolutionary and new, the bypass with aux cooler, or port tapping with aux cooler are our best options as far as oil, and one of those two oil options paired with the BPD aux cooler is probably the best overall setup.

There's a new option about to be released per some posts in the EcoDiesel Page for the Differently Abled and Intellectually Challenged on Facebook. Again, not cheap, but better than the Insane Diesel setup. Sorry FB doesn't let me link directly to the specific posts.

I've been in contact with him for a while. He's building this out primarily for Ram EcoDiesels and hasn't found anybody with a Wrangler/Gladiator EcoDiesel near him who can let him check out their trucks to develop a Jeep-specific kit. That means I'm on my own for figuring everything out.

I've also discovered that a big part of my Jeep's problem when towing is the P00AF code, so I guess it's time to drop it off at the dealership for some warranty work.

From my understanding, he's now working with someone in Pennsylvania on the Jeep.

Oh, you fell victim to the P00AF! Yes, get that turbo swapped out and you'll be back in business. 👍

My CAT C15 takes between 10 and 11 gallons , 40–44 quarts but every 10-25k oil changes..
