Yes, I am posiitve. It appears the JL/JT's of 2021+ had it removed.
I just did my Differentials and Transfer Case while I was underneath.

Like I said, I believe after 2021 years, they removed the plugs.

dealers reuse the gasket, and do not stock them
If that’s the case….and it leaks, I guess that’s a trip back to the dealership for them to fix it. They’d probably just torque the bolts tighter and say…. “Fixed!”🙄

I have the ARB covers. I'll remove them for an inside clean and inspect. Refill with Torco RGL 85-140. Use the factory re usable gasket.

The dealer who I have free oil changes for life quoted me aroudn $900 to do front/rear/trans service
Front & rear differentials: Requirements, specifications, capacity, & torque
Automatic transmission: Complete DIY instructions
  • Torques listed in each post are from this thread
  • For front differential drain plug, do not use Teflon paste
    • @Supazuk pointed out that the front diff on the '22 Sport S owned by @Sigz does not have a drain plug, but I am keeping this comment here because the front diff on some other Gladiators does have a drain plug
  • Some shops don't bother with Teflon paste or Threadlocker / Loctite, but this is your call
  • For the rear axle, the internal dealer spec sheet recommends 75W-140 "if equipped with trailer tow package" (see page 5)
  • If the rear diff is limited-slip / Trac-Lok and you use MOPAR, don't forget to add friction modifier (many aftermarket brands already include friction modifier)
  • For front & rear diffs, Valvoline is a solid choice; MOPAR meets spec (of course); AMSOIL Severe Gear is the gold standard to me, but some have argued this point
  • For automatic transmission, also see pan drop performed by a Jeep dealership (including invoice)
  • I agree that you should go ahead and do the transfer case as well because it's easy & cheap (Valvoline ATF+4 is licensed, but MOPAR ATF+4 can be cheaper)
  • For transfer case, consider using a shaped aluminum turkey pan to drain fluid over the skid plate

Obviously… I’m still in the old-school days.
Back in the olden days, you’d never want to re-use the gaskets. They were cheap and readily available - cheap insurance.
I guess even gaskets get ‘improved’ over the years.

If I occasionally tow a 4x6 trailer should I use 75w 140 for the rear diff? Or stick with then75w 90

Use the 75w140... there isn't much fluid capacity in the rear.

Fluid capacity… like the rear doesn’t take as much as the front?

No, the rear still takes more than the front, but the rear in the JL only takes about 1.5 quarts, the JK took almost 2.5 quarts.
The front rarely works, so getting it hot doesn't really matter.

A trailer that small I'd hardly call towing the way the manual considers towing.

That being said, I did go to the 75W140 in my two door Jeep and all I was towing was a 1,400 pound tear drop and my 5x10 utility.

I'll probably going 75W140 in my Gladiator as I tow my 5x10 a LOT and plan to tow a trailer with my tractor on it occasionally, as well as a boat.

Yeah. I guess I’m baby towing.

Either way 75w140 shouldn’t hurt using it right?
