Sorry, vehicle build codes for our orders. Something is happening because we both have manual trans trucks on order (ordered the same day, same story and dates of regression and all). But the jeeptracker.com app just alerted both of us that a new build/sales code was added.
Jeep Gladiator Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators 1682011301953

The only thing I have been able to find other than people just wondering what that code means

"573 is Sales Distribution Tracking" whatever that means... maybe we get a new build date or something soon? Sounds like someone is at least looking at our orders or something is progressing. Hopefully we get a build date soon because our orders should be some indication of a fix becoming available for this recall.

I am not happy with another reflash derating of power on my Jeep. I bought a Gladiator with 285 hp &260 ft lbs torque. Mazda got caught overrating the #s on the RX8 and had to buy back. How is this any different? This needs to be a hardware swap to a clutch that handles the torque without slipping and catching fire!
I don't know how in the world to explain this where everyone can understand it, but here goes again. There is NO power reduction UNLESS significant slipping of the clutch is detected. Unless you get the warning on the dash, you have the full power of that engine. Period. The power reduction would be dramatic, not subtle. There would absolutely be no doubt, besides the warning on the dash.

I understand this. My point is the same. The clutch was designed to a lower torque rating than the engine puts out. With a properly speced clutch the tow rating would be more like the automatic transmission Jeeps. Should actually be more that the automatic because no trans cooler robbing air from the radiator.

I dropped my truck off at the dealership yesterday for them to put the centerforce clutch in today. I got a phone call at about 1000 from the dealership. the fact that the centerforce comes with a new hydraulic setup added like 5 hours of labor (estimate based on the increase in cost) for them to install… I’m paying a lot of money for them to fix an issue the Jeep accountants created.

I won't be so bold to ask you what the dealership is charging you for that install, but I called them last week and got a quote to install the CF clutch. They got back with me and wanted $1500 to install it. Seems unreasonably high to me. I am re-thinking things.

That is what I got quoted Too. Then the service Section saw that centerforce had more than just a clutch and added a couple of hours of labor to that.… it made me sad but I’m kind of at the wrong end of the negotiations with them since I don’t have the knowledge to do that type of work. Plus I’m getting ready for a move and just got back from 9 months in Germany for work.

they told me it Should be ready for pickup on Wednesday

If you are rethinking, consider the ACT which is less expensive, doesn't require custom hydraulics and you have the choice of two different flywheels.

And you even have a how to install video. I'm waiting to see what Jeep does here, but if it's not something I deem satisfactory I will be going ACT. One thing I don't see emphasized on the ACT website is towing. Which clutch would you guys recommend for towing? Just as heavy duty as possible?

I would recommend the JP6-HDSS for just about all JT/JL application, especially towing. The heavier flywheel really improves the drivability, imo.

I plan to order this week. Being we're in planting mode I'm going to have a trusted near by shop do the install.

I'm surprised your dealer agreed to install "non-Mopar" parts (nevermind that they're actually safer for the customer than the Mopar parts).
