[POLL] Will you be purchasing/trading in for a 2025 Gladiator 4xe?

I'm interested in one, but it is going to depend entirely on how it is configured and optioned when it finally makes it to market.

I have an early build Overland that I am very happy with. I'm not yet ready to give it up.

Before I thought about a 4xe I would have to drive one with the battery drained and see what it was like on the 4 banger alone. I drive LONG distances on and off road.
The truth is, I am holding out for the inline six. That is the only reason I would get a new one.

In terms of a gladiator, I would prefer simple to moderate on the gadgets; they don’t need to be complex, and I don’t need a 50” tv screen in there. As far as my wife and I, we don’t tend to upgrade/update our vehicles either, we tend to run them out as far as we can, and as long as we can, and we’re not happy if we don’t achieve high-mileage land. We have much better things that we would waste/enjoy money on, above interest and above payments. Where we live, and where we go in these, tends to be far away from any brick jungles, and in those areas, gas/diesel is king. When things do go bad, on road or off road, I want a fighting chance at doing some of the repairs myself.

Drives like a 5.7, it's a hybrid not an EV, the battery gets charged by brakes and engine as needed. The plugin portion means you can start with a higher percentage of charge by plugging in to the wall, but even if you never do it still drives like a 5.7 V8.

Trail Recon said it was awful when it ran out of battery! I tend to trust someone who uses it like I do.

I'll have to watch what he did because I use it as you describe. Even went to TN and did all the mountains on no charge including steep off-road trails, still drove like a V8. 25k miles in never not had V8 power on tap.

Any idea what video he said that in? The few I watched in the very short time he had it I don't remember him saying that. It also contradicts basically every actual owner who actually goes off-roading in 1, since that's not how the power train works, especially off road where the low power demands leave plenty of thermal capacity for charging the hybrid system.

I’m burning oil in my 2021 JTRD and loving it. I’d take a good look at a fully electric “Magneto” version of the Gladiator if that ever landed, but I’d also like thick hair, a flat stomach and the stock market to give me back my retirement money. I don’t think any of those things are going to happen.

Nope. Just bought a ‘21 Gladiator Willys and it only had 10k miles on it, ready it for towing behind motorhome. The truck weighs in at 4,880 with full tank of gas. I have no facts other than the weight difference between a JLU and a 4xE, but I have to believe the Gladiator hybrid will be more than a few pounds heavier than what I have now. Most likely well beyond the limits of both hitch and towing capacity of my motorhome. Heck the base 4xe exceeds my limits.

Would have to see the specs on it and the cost. Heck the the standard JT is being charged at a luxury vehicle rate so hate to see what kind of price tag Jeep would put on the Hybrid JT

I know. I calculated the cost of a 2024 next to my 2022 and it was nearly $20,000 more - for the same thing. I know that there are deals out there, but not a 20,000 cut. We love our RAV4 Prime plug-in, so I'm hoping it won't be 100 grand for a PHEV Gladiator. Given that the majority in the poll say they'll stay with an ICE Gladiator, I assume I'll be able to sell my 2022 easily in the Southwest.

Kind of reminds me of a Rivian.

I could see this appealing to a lot of people who need 4wd/awd, and prefer an SUV.

Looks like a Blazer, but I guess that's the point.

I saw his video, and I thought he just commented on how short the mileage (about 18 miles) was off-road, and then it went to the ICE 4-banger. He seems a straight up guy and has owned many Jeeps over the years. He was also a green (USMC) corpsman, and they always get my vote.

This is definitely true, the range is short for the battery size. The issue people have is they think that all electric range running out means you only have the 4 banger left. The truth is the jeep keeps almost twice as much juice in reserve after the electric range ends as the tundra hybrid has on a full charge so it for all intents and purposes still has full use of the electric motors in combination with the now running 4 banger.
