So they finally admit they have a problem that they have known about for years, and yet they still do not have a remedy. I have already replaced the clutch in my wife’s JLR with a Centerforce. I do not expect to get reimbursed anything, but it would be nice.
It would be great to be reimbursed- event just parts!!! I don’t expect it from Stellantis

Just logged into the owners portal to see if the recall had showed up yet for me. It had but I also noticed this reimbursement link. I would say worth a try to see if you can get compensated for fixing their issue.

They charge $100 /hr for shop time. They do a lot of Jeep work and know their stuff.
That is awesome. You are fortunate to have a trusted and reliable shop near you that charges reasonable rates.

Yeah, I had the link up on my browser for two days. I need to pull my receipt and submit it.

So people with the centerforce, single mass one preferably but either way. Does their clutch have like 5-10 degrees of rotarional play like the OEM one does, or is it a solid unit?

the CenterForce Flywheel is a one piece solid flywheel. I added a picture of the flywheel.

I just got my recall notice today and also see this link. Interested to hear what success people have on getting reimbursed for the centerforce. I've only got 1K miles on mine but will swap ASAP if I'm not too out of pocket. FWIW I've used centerforce forvever on XJs and Silverados, always been a great clutch.

LOL. I literally just laughed physically out loud with how much better that looks. Im thinking I'm gonna save for the CF single, and if the recall is a new clutch but its trash, I'll just put that in instead. No one tell FCA:LOL:

With our clutches, we have two options for flywheels. Both are solid flywheels and use a conventional type 11" clutch with a torque capacity of 480ftlbs (if using street discs). No change in the hydraulics required. We also have a step by step install video. Here is a press release:

https://www.advancedclutch.com/arti...or-JEEP-Wrangler-JL-Gladiator-JT-Applications.
Watched the install video. If I had a lift and a transmission jack I'd totally be doing that myself, oh well. But for towing with larger tires would you guys do the heavier duty clutch or is there not much difference until you're making more power?

Because of the issues people are having and the lack of feedback to the driver with the stock clutch, I would recommend our clutch for any JL/JT. The added inertia of the ProMass versus our StreetMass flywheel is a matter of preference, but personally I like the heavier ProMass even for a stock vehicle.

Any recommendations on an installer in the South East?
I am afraid not. I always hesitate to recommend an installer, unless I have personally experience with them.

My experience is anecdotal, at best, but I really liked the 6puck ACT clutch in my 240sx. I beat on it mercilessly and it held up well. ~$1100 for the ACT plus flywheel isn't bad.

Dirk, for the layman and someone new to 4x4s, can you expound on the results behind the steering wheel between the street and promass flywheels and why the weight varies so much between stock and other manufacturers who have flywheels up to like 67lbs? IIRC the stock flywheel is something like 48lbs whereas the street and promass are 29 and 41lbs respectively according to the one-sheet.

With all that said, I forsee myself installing one of the ACTs, almost certainly laying on my back cradling my transmission on a floorjack.. wouldn't be the first time though.
