@chr15m Just 1100 miles

I don't remember the 2020 being so sluggish at 1k miles
The sport I drove as a rental before I got my JTM was noticeably lighter feeling, it was actually nice in a utilitarian truck sort of way. It was indeed easier to go than the Mojave is, but Ive grown accustomed to the 35s on my stock 4.10s and dont hate it. But, I get where youre coming from.

I need something that won't spend 80% of time in the shop. FORD lost my business in 2014. Their pos will never stain my driveway again.
Haha! Ya a really bad experience can leave a long lasting foul taste. I would never buy a new diesel again after my experience with one. One of the things I like about my Mojave is the simple V6 non turbo etc.. would I like more power? Ya for sure, but I can live with what I have now. If finances were not an issue I would re-gear to 5.13 and enjoy it!

4.88s would be a fair compromise with the 8spd slushbox. That's whaty buddy put in his and maintains his MPGs if not better around town

My 2024 Mojave just passed 1000 miles. I came from a 2020 sport with pizza cutters. (255/75)
The Mojave has to work very hard compared to the sport
.
70 on the hwy the Mojave only holds 8th gear on flats without any head wind.
Often dropping to 4th and near redline to hold speed.

The 285s are just too much rolling resistance

Going to 35s so I will regearbbut why does jeep think 4.10 is short enough for these tires is beyond me.

Other than gearing love this truck
I have 37’s and haven’t driven on highway yet.

I had a 21 Mojave (manual) and it felt sluggish. I went to 35's and it seemed more responsive so checked the stock tire weight:
Falken WildPeak AT3W. LT285/70R17 (Load C). 59000350 ; Speed Index: Q ; Tire Rim Diameter: 17 ; Tire Type: All Terrain ; Tread Depth: 18 ; Weight: 63.71 lbs

The new tires I went to were only 59 lbs...those are just some heavy factory tires!
This is a correct response. Would it be better with stock 4.56 gears? Yes. However it is not horrible with 35s and 4.10s. I feel like people expect 8th gear too often.

Jeep should have offered the Ecodiesel in the Mojave platform. Problem solved.

I think the factory could figure out the suspension. I mean I’m not driving around on the bump stops but I am driving around with 500 foot pounds of torque thanks to Green Diesel Engineering.

My Sport has 4.10 gears (Max Tow) and I have 285/70R17s from a Rubicon. I also have a front leveling kit so my nose is in the air as bad as a stock Mojave. Even in a stiff head wind at 70-75 my truck will hold 6th gear which I believe is around 3,000 RPM. Probably not optimal for fuel mileage but the otherwise the engine isn't gonna care. Doesn't bother me much.

No wind? I can pull off 85-90MPH in 7th. Sometimes 6th.

If your brave enough you can run 107 MPH loaded almost to GVWR. Truck get a bit hairy before the limiter. That's another story.

More gear wouldn't hurt for towing with these 285's, but day to day driving has been pretty good the last two years.

I'm on 37x13.5s with the OEM 4.10s, not ideal, but not hateful. I will get 4.88s sometime this year with a front locker
Are you still on 4.10s or did you upgrade. I have the 2.5 in stock lift with the 35x12.50s wanted to put a spring leveling kit up front and 37x12.50s.... I heard a couple guys at the jeep club say they did it on 4.10s and are completely happy with it. I dont do a massive amount of hiway use, and do play in the desert sand. Thanks!!! Wanted to ask, were you kind of indifferent, ? I imagine you lost a bit of "off the line" and gas mileage performance but if its nominal I'm going for it.

While not a measure of any actual performance I run 37's on stock wheels with stock 4.10's on my Mojave, I pull away from my buddies tuned Tacoma on stock tires when we go from a stop.... hahaha as for gas mileage when comparing to my past 35's I feel like I lost at least a litre or two per 100km in town, not much difference on the hwy. I do notice it doesn't go into 8th as much and holds gears longer that I'd like.

I cannot image 37s on 4.10. But to each their own.
It's just weird at 70mph. It can't hold 8th gear if there is a 5mph head wind on flat ground. On 37s would you even see 6th gear?

Yes, still on 4.10s right now. And I'm now up on the MC Mojave GC 4.5" kit. It's not a racecar, but still fun for a lifted brick on 37s

Again, it's not bad and my JTM is a DD if I'm not driving the XC90

Just bought my Mojave in October and it came with 295/70R17s. It does feel sluggish on hills. Been reading that a regearing is necessary at this size but they are 33 equivalent not 35. With that being said, is it necessary now or should I wait til I install 35s?

Did somebody change up to the 295's or did you mean 285/70r17? Jeeps aren't known to be fast, I'd just learn to love it as it, re-gearing, even for 35's is a huge expense that may not make the difference you want.
