thanks for your input,
Atlas is a bit over my budget right now, but I might still look into it.
Are you getting a 2nd hand case? I had Benny quote me once for a replacement mopar case. Granted it was for a rubicon, but it was way over 4k.

Yeah I’m mainly looking at used T-case right now
+ shifter + DTCM
Makes total sense. No idea if they have one, but @Mightytalldude found a great eBay seller that seems to have tons of ultra low miles Jeep stuff.

There's a few listed, but you'll have to look at them to see if they'll work. This is for a 2l Wrangler Sport paired to an 8-speed. https://ebay.us/m/lCRJZs

@Red_gladiator just a word of advise, double check the spline count on any transfer case you look at as the 8HP50 has a different spline count on the output. The 392, 4Xe and six speed manual transmission have a 43 spline output while the 8HP50 has IIRC a 23 spline output.

Thanks for your advice,
The ZF 8hp75 that come on the RAM 5.7 had 23 spline, as I attempted a pic om my 8hp75 transmission šŸ‘‡šŸ‘‡

Hey everyone,

This is my first post here , I have a 2021 Gladiator sport with a 5.7 Hemi and ZF 8HP75 from a Ram, 37 and 4.88. I primarily do high-speed dune bashing in the desert with 4HI.
I am now on my second failed transfer case. The Hemi torque in deep sand is cooking the clutch-packs in the Selec-Trac system (4 auto)
• T-Case 1 (MP3022): Failed at 12k km after the swap.
• T-Case 2 (Used MP3022): survived only 17k km.

Am still on the original drive shafts having 97k km total (30k with the Hemi),They are holding.

I want to swap to the MP1622C (Mojave/Command-Trac). I want the 2.72:1 ratio for speed in the dunes and a mechanical lock.

Is the MP1622C enough for the V8 torque and desert driving style , or should I be looking for a Rubicon NV241OR?

What I understand is that

MP1622C should be easier swap (T-Case + Tazer to stop the 4auto function , and shifter but it’s not important)
NV241OR I need also to change the front + aft drive shaft.

I need a once and for all fix. I'm tired of burning clutches.

Thanks,
I was advised not to use 4WD Auto while off road in my '21 Mojave because the clutch packs will overheat and only use it on pavement in bad weather. So, if I feel I need traction off pavement, I now use 4WD High. My Mojave is my daily driver/overlanding rig, I have an 02 TJ with an Atlas 4 speed as my rock crawler. I love the SelectTrac transfer case since I live in Colorado, but it clearly is not the same as the old NP242 they used in the XJ/ZJ/KJ/XK back in the date that stood up to the 4.0 6 cyl and 5.2 V8.

The non-4h auto tcase can take the power, but the v8s are known to burn up the clutch models, especially if you use 4h auto a lot on loose surfaces.
