Got a set of afe intake tubes. One more step towards giving water methanol injection a try. Maybe next month.

Would love to hear of ur overall results with methanol injection. I was recently starting to think if it would help somewhat with cooling as claimed. And that fact u can use 32° blue washer fluid for cheap is nice.

Go to the right and go to min max log and let us know what your turbine inlet temp max and your MAT or manifold air temp is.

You can also see your max boost and everything in one screen.

So far doing 0-110mph runs with my derringer set to 6 on flat ground at 80 degrees i have seen:

ECT 248
EOT 253
TIT 1564
PSI 30.8
MAT 375

Very high temps. With the derringer set to stock it does keep the EGT/TIT below 1500. The rest of the temps stay the same.
ok I finally did take the pics of the min max screen.

I think at some point I've read through this whole thread, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I know that they already made the grill openings wider on the Gladiator, but I feel like they really could have gone further. The larger openings only look more aggressive to me, while keeping the factory look.

Well, here it is way bigger. 24% more opening, to be precise.

I wish I had the equipment/knowledge to manufacture stuff like this. Just slightly exaggerated OEM parts. Maybe there are legal boundaries to that. I think there's a market for it in general, across the automotive industry. But instead we get angry birds grills.

Good photoshop, I've thought about gutting the grill between the headlights, and creating a mesh or expanded sheet grill that has the slots painted, same effect. I don't believe it needs much rigidity.

I should be clear that I don't condone this, but just for the hell of it:

Funny, I was just typing out that very suggestion when it popped up that there was a new post.

That should help, but you really need more radiator surface to make much of an impact.

It definitely looses some “Jeep-ness”, but it’s not nearly as bad looking as any aftermarket grille you can buy right now.

This actually doesn't look bad to me, especially if there were 6 painted lines to make it jeep certified lol. Thanks for scratching that itch.

I think someone ran without the entire front and it didn't make much difference. Personally I think we don't have enough surface area just for a good cooler. If it can't be bigger, it should be thicker and bar and plate.

It's not the grill. It's been tested. People have pulled them off completely, went back to tow, and had the same engine and oil temps.

Has anyone ran a thermocouple on the radiator to see what temps it is and what temps the ecu is reporting.

There is a possibility it's not a radiator issue but another component (EGR cooler) that is triggering high sensor temps.

First step is to verify the radiator and the ecu reported temps are in sync.

Which makes a lot of sense to me, I bet if you opened the whole grill up and ducted it to the radiator your limiting factor would be extracting air from the other side.

Removing all the grill including the surrounding material would be detrimental, the air needs directed, not allowed to hit the resistance of the grill and the high pressure area in front of it, and flow around.

But something like the larger slot grill at the front with tight ducting, a better aluminum radiator, and a reverse cowl hood would all work quite well together I think.
